The First Step in establishing a successful food plot is to have a soil test taken of the area to be planted. The soil test will indicate and adjustments needed in regards to pH and provide recommended fertilizer requirements. Without a soil test we recommend 300 pounds of 12-12-12 and 500 to 2,000 pounds of lime per acre.
The Second Step is to use the premium quality seed found in every bag of Northern Edge Wildlife Food Plot Mixes.
The Final Step is to cut grass & weeds as low as possible or spray existing vegetation with a herbicide. Follow herbicide instructions and wait required amount of days. Clear debris to expose soil. Seed must make contact with soil. Do not plant in tall or thick grasses or weeds where sunlight cannot penetrate. Spread seeds at a rate of 10lbs per 1/2 acre.
