  • The Black Boar Landscaping Rake is designed for clearing trails and raking debris. The super rigid design utilizes the entire length of the rake, meaning debris won’t gather in the center or bow out the sides. Each tine is removable, so you can adjust the coarseness of the rake. Fewer tines are better for heavy debris, while using all the tines would be good for lighter debris.

  • The Antler King® brand Radish is a member of the brassica family and is cold-tolerant, easy to establish, fast-growing and provides a fantastic warm and cold season food source for whitetail deer.  The “greens” of the Radish are packed with protein (20-30%) and vitamins and will produce plenty of tonnage, while the long white tap root can grow to be 24-30″ and will provide energy-rich nutrients for your deer and natural tillage in deeply compacted soils.  Radishes are extremely versatile and will grow in a wide variety of soil types, conditions, and environments, making them a favorite across the U.S.  Like other brassicas, a hard frost will create a molecular change resulting in increased sugar content of the leaves and taproot and will increase deer activity and consumption.  Radishes can be planted in the Spring (once soil temps are above 50) or in the late Summer (July-October) and work as a great Fall and Winter food source in the Southern US and a Summer, Fall and Winter food source in the North, Northeast, and Midwest.  Radishes prefer a soil pH of between 5.5-7.0, can grow well in dry, sandy and rocky conditions and can be planted on their own or mixed with grains or other brassicas.

Northern Edge Forage Radishes is an easy to establish annual forage for wildlife food plots that produces a tremendous amount of high protein forage and large edible roots for deer from late summer through mid to late winter. As with other brassicas, Northern Edge Forage Radishes will see increased feeding activity as cooler weather arrives in the fall due to increased sugars in the leaves and roots. These radishes are also efficient recyclers of minerals and other nutrients which benefit antler growth and overall health of the deer herd. Other benefits of Northern Edge Forage Radishes include enhanced soil tilth, increased soil organic matter, weed suppression, improved water infiltration and aeration. When the radishes start to decay in late winter, nutrients become readily available for use by the following food plot crop. Eco-Till Radish is a new Daikon type forage radish variety specifically developed for fall/winter cover crop applications. These radishes offer impressive benefits to the soil and the environment including the reduction of soil compaction, improved nutrient recycling, increased organic matter, enhancement of soil tilth and suppresion of weeds, to name a few. A superior, deep penetrating taproot is one characteristic that seperates Eco-till radishes from the competition. The thin, lower portion of the taproot can grow to a depth of six feet or more while the thick upper portion of the taproot can grow to a length of 24 inches. This taproot creates vertical holes in the soil profile that breaks up soil compaction and improves soil tilth. This process, known as “bio-building”, improves water infiltration, aeration and fertilizer efficiency for succeeding crops. Equally important is the ability of these radishes to take up nutrients from the soil profile to be stored in the tissues near the soil surface and make them readily available for use by the following crop.

  • The First Step in establishing a successful food plot is to have a soil test taken of the area to be planted. The soil test will indicate and adjustments needed in regards to pH and provide recommended fertilizer requirements.  Without a soil test we recommend 300 pounds of 12-12-12 and 500 to 2,000 pounds of lime per acre.

The Second Step is to use the premium quality seed found in every bag of Northern Edge Wildlife Food Plot Mixes.

The Final Step is to cut grass & weeds as low as possible or spray existing vegetation with a herbicide.  Follow herbicide instructions and wait required amount of days. Clear debris to expose soil.  Seed must make contact with soil.  Do not plant in tall or thick grasses or weeds where sunlight cannot penetrate.  Spread seeds at a rate of 10lbs per 1/2 acre.
