The second Step is to use the premium quality seed found in every bag of Northern Edge Wildlife Food Plot Mixes.
The Final Step is to choose the seeding method such as convetional or no-till; whichever best fits your situation. Convetional sedding involves preparing a seed bed by plowing or discing a field. Once a firm, smooth seed bed is prepared, seed can be drilled or broadcasted and then cultipacked to ensure good seed-to-soil contact. If you don’t have access to a cultipacker, a piece of chainlink fence dragging behind an ATV should provide sufficient soil coverage of the seed. No-till seeding uses chemical means to kill or weaken any plant competition in the field. A no-till drill is then used to place the seed in contact with the soil. In all cases, seed should not be planted any deeper then 1/2 inch and preferrably at 1/4 inch.
Northern Edge Habitat Heaven has been designed to attract and hold game birds and other wildlife in the area and provide excellent cover for the entire season. This mix has also been known to be used by whitetail as an essential bedding area. This mixture of native grasses will provide shelter as well as offer escape routes from predators.
Taking up to become fully established, once established, it will perform well under many different environmental and soil conditions.
Northern Edge Habitat Heaven is a perennial mixture that will provide a source of cover for many years. Annual Spring Managment of an established stand will require removal of the grasses.
